A square PFP gives you an equal-width-and-height image that can fit a profile card, account tile or gallery. The starting character on this page uses a compact hairstyle and a plain white background so you can focus on positioning and contrast. The face stays centered as you change the available styles, making it easier to compare the overall composition.
The editor exports a 256 by 256 PNG from a 32 by 32 pixel character. A square file does not guarantee that every platform will display it as a square: some profile interfaces apply a circular mask. Use both previews before downloading, and choose a hairstyle whose important shapes still read inside the smaller rounded view.
Look at the silhouette before changing colors. A buzz cut keeps the outline compact; longer hair adds more shape at the sides. Switch between them and check the circular preview if your destination uses a round profile image. The canvas keeps equal dimensions throughout.
The white starting background makes the dark hair easy to read. Try a darker background if you prefer light hair, or use a muted color that complements the outfit. Avoid combinations where the hair and background blend into one continuous shape.
Save the finished PNG and retain the original square version on your device. If you need another dimension, resize it with the companion pixel art tool. Repeatedly resizing in general image editors can soften the edges, so work from the original export whenever possible.
Use the portrait in a member grid, account chooser or project directory that displays equal-sized tiles. A simple background makes a collection easier to scan. Keep the same color family across related profiles and vary the expression to distinguish individual characters.
A square source file can also serve a destination that crops avatars into circles. Check that eyes, glasses and mouth stay visible in the round preview. Hair at the outer corners may be clipped, so choose a compact outline if those details are important.
Place the square PFP beside a username, short bio or game statistics panel. A transparent background lets you supply your own card color; a solid background makes the avatar self-contained. Save a version of each if you use the portrait in several layouts.
